Mothers’ Day minis are almost here! Mums are our biggest cheerleaders, our taxi drivers, they cook, clean, and do laundry for the family, and more often than not they’re the ones documenting the kids’ lives. This year make sure that Mum is IN the photos! Who doesn’t love to look back through the photo albums of when they were kids? Wouldn’t your kids want to see mum in those photos too? Of course! Let me help you with that.
Just a quick 20 minutes session will allow us to focus on the connection between Mum and her little (or not-so-little!) ones. You’ll be amazed at how painless it is, and what beautiful photographs you’ll have to remember this stage in your kids’ and their mum’s life.
Click on inquire up above to get in touch for more information or to book your session. As the session is after Mothers’ Day, it will make a great surprise gift!
Till next time…
Well, spring is taking its sweet time arriving this year, and I need some colour in my life after the long grey winter! This session is from waaaaay back in the fall, and with the beautiful fall foliage at the Arboretum I thought it would be great to blog about it.
I have to say that this family was a delight to photograph. What made it really special was that it was their first time having family photos done! They were a little nervous at first, but as you can see it didn’t take long before the nerves were shed and we were all laughing, playing, and having a great time. The girls were full of energy, and Mum and Dad were happy to see how much fun they were having through the process. I’m so happy that these guys have these photos to hold onto! It’s so important that we take the time to make memories, but also that we stop to take photos to remember who we were at different points along the way. The kids grow up, the dynamic changes, but at the centre of it all is a family who love each other to pieces!
Do you feel like it’s time to jump in and have your family photographed? I’d love to hear from you! We’ll put together a session that perfectly reflects your family and what you’re all about. Click Inquire at the top there to get the ball rolling!
Until next time…
Now that we’re well past the holiday season, it’s safe to blog about sessions that needed secrecy before Christmas presents were given!
I love love love when clients come back year after year, and I get to watch their family grow. I had the pleasure of photographing both boys’ newborn sessions, and a family session when the oldest turned one; before the little guy came on the scene. Now that their youngest is up and running it was time to get them in front of the camera again!
It was a gorgeous fall evening at Andrew Haydon Park in Nepean, and wouldn’t you know it, the whole city had the same idea as we had! The park was teeming with people; enjoying bbq’s, playing frisbee, going for walks, and enjoying the sun. It made for some waiting for people to move on, as well as some creative shooting, but we let the boys run and have fun, and took the pressure off for “good behaviour”… so everyone had a good time. When energy dipped we stopped for a quick snack and a snuggle, and that turned into a gorgeous photo too. It’s all about going with the flow. I can’t wait to see and photograph them again!
I’m starting to book up for Spring and Summer sessions, so if you’re thinking it’s time for YOUR family to get in front of the camera, and you’d love to experience being pampered by Closely Knit Photography, I encourage you to get in touch! Just click on Inquire, above. I look forward to hearing from you!
Until next time…
Well, this sweet little thing stole my heart. She reminded me so much of my not so little Chublet! While so many little ones stay balled up like they were in the womb, this little lady has already started staking her claim to her space in the world. She loved no position more than sprawled flat on her back, arms up, and legs out like a starfish! Look out world, here she comes and she won’t be a wallflower!
I fall in love with every newborn I photograph. There’s something about each one of them that is so unique, and so them; the tiny ones with the super delicate little features, the ones with the bold personalities, even at 6 days old, the ones who settle in and snooze throughout the whole session, and the ones who just. won’t. sleep… One of the things I loved about this special little girl was her delicious chubbiness and awesome rolls!
And one of my favourite parts of her session? You can check it out here! Oh the cuddles… (Yes, I look like a hot mess. Par for the course with newborns, I’m afraid! You can expect to see me in yoga pants and a t-shirt or a tank top for newborn sessions…)
This little one has a wonderful life to look forward to. Her parents are some of the loveliest people I know. Funny, warm, and absolutely delighted to have welcomed her into their life. I look forward to getting to know her as she grows!
I’m currently booking newborn sessions in the New Year. I recommend booking about 2-4 months before your due date- it’ll help take the pressure off of all the last minute preparations we make before baby arrives. Head on up to the “Inquire” button at the top to drop me a line!
Until next time…
